Prologue: Go Wayback – How to Find and Safely Drink Water

In the survival game Prologue: Go Wayback, maintaining hydration is critical for long-term success, as physical activity becomes severely limited without a consistent water source. While the game presents various threats, dehydration is an inevitable danger that must be managed from the start.

Finding safe drinking water can be challenging, especially if your initial spawn point is far from natural sources. Unlike dealing with cold (where building a fire is key), finding clean water requires more active effort.

1. Primary Method: Moving Water Sources

The safest and most reliable way to find fresh water is to locate a river or stream.

  • Requirement: The water must be moving. Never drink from standing pools or ponds, as this will lead to illness.

  • Action: Once at a safe moving source, you can use your Water Bottle to fill up.

Tip: You begin the game with a Water Bottle inside your starting cabin. It initially holds only 0.5L, which is insufficient for a long trek, but it is your most important tool for carrying water.

2. Alternative Method: Collecting Rainwater

If you are far from a river or stream, the weather can be used to your advantage:

  • Collection: You can collect rainwater by having your Water Bottle equipped or lying on the ground when it is raining. The bottle will gradually fill over time.

  • Shelter Strategy: If you find a cabin for shelter, leave the bottle just outside to collect the rain, then retrieve it periodically to replenish your supply.

3. Bonus Source: Packaged Drinks

While scavenging in cabins, always check drawers and cupboards for bonus hydration sources:

  • Soda: Bottles of soda can often be found. These not only quench thirst but also provide extra calories.

  • Milk Jugs: If you are lucky enough to find a large milk jug, this is an excellent high-volume water container, though your standard Water Bottle is sufficient if you manage your pace.

Ensuring a continuous supply of safe water should be a top priority at the start of every run in Prologue: Go Wayback.
